Cooperstown Rotary - Applefest: Logo & Print Development

Every year the Cooperstown Rotary hosts one the most popular fall events in upstate New York. Paperkite created a playful logo to capture the essence of this fun family outing. The logo was used on all signage, promotional materials, and even on t-shirts for concession. The client fully embraced the logo and used it successfully across all platforms of promotion including print, web, and merchandising.

The Farmers' Museum - Plowline: Naming, Branding, & Print Development

Paperkite was employed to facilitate the naming of this new online collection for The Farmers’ Museum. After the name – Plowline – was carefully selected, a harmonious logo and supportive print materials were developed.

New York State Historical Association - Heat Up the Night: Logo & Print Development

Paperkite developed a logo for this crowd-pleasing New York State Historical Association event featuring live music, fire jugglers, and bonfires to warm up the icy cold upstate winter. Paperkite wanted to portray the youthful energy of this event with a colorful and bold logo. The branding was successfully implemented by the client and used on all marketing materials.

Upstate History Alliance - Museumwise: Naming, Branding, Print, & Website Development

The Upstate History Alliance’s name no longer reflected the depth or breadth of its ever-growing services. Paperkite guided UHA through a successful renaming and logo development process. The result was Museumwise - a new name reflecting the organization’s present and future. To fully realize the brand we also developed a corresponding website and print materials.

New York State Historical Association - Quarterly Calendar

Paperkite has designed NYSHA’s graphic quarterly calendar for four years publicizing their numerous events and activities. Establishing a user friendly look and feel for the calendar has kept visitors informed and invested in Museum happenings.

Center for Foodborne Illness Research & Prevention - Brochure

CFI provides education, research, and support dedicated to the prevention of foodborne illness. Paperkite helped this organization get its message out with a stylish brochure encouraging ongoing participation that included an easy to use fundraising request form.

New York State Historical Association - Museum Quest: Naming & Print Development

Paperkite guided NYSHA through a naming process arriving at Museum Quest. This self-guided and hands-on program encourages students and teachers to independently explore both The Farmers’ Museum and the Fenimore Art Museum. A supportive “Adventure Guide” with a detailed illustrated map and promotional postcard were also developed creating a fully interactive experience.

New York State Historical Association - Print Development & School Programming Materials

For the past four seasons, NYSHA and Paperkite have partnered to develop fun and vibrant materials to help increase participation in the educational programming offered through The Farmers’ Museum and The Fenimore Art Museum. Using the Museum Quest materials (also profiled in this online portfolio) as an inspiration, we developed a booklet and postcard around a seasonal theme encouraging year-round participation.

Fenimore Art Museum - Family Activity Guide

This interactive guide was developed to encourage families to take advantage of the culturally rich and family-friendly exhibits at the Museum. Using a child’s eye view, Paperkite designed a guide that was playful and sparked the imagination of children and allowed families to work on challenges as a team.

Oneonta Concert Association - Brochures

For over five seasons Paperkite has worked with OCA to design brochures and posters that showcase the numerous high caliber performances they bring to the Oneonta area. Paperkite created a distinct look and feel for each season that was reflected in all of the accompanying printed materials.

The Farmers' Museum - Annual Report

Paperkite developed a contemporary and fresh 20-page annual report that reflected a year of education and agricultural traditions. Using the iconic imagery of the Farm as inspiration, we designed a book that tells the story of a year in the life of The Famers’ Museum, celebrating the past and embracing the future.

New York State Historical Association - Annual Report

For this edition, Paperkite used a year in review format drawing from the collections and exhibits at the Fenimore Art Museum. Paperkite worked with Museum representatives to create a book that reflects the high profile of this nationally recognized Museum.

Fenimore Art Museum - The Thaw Collection of American Indian Art: Exhibit Guide

Paperkite partnered with the Fenimore Art Museum to create an exhibit guide for the traveling Thaw collection of American Indian Art. With students and families in mind, we developed an interactive guide that was thought provoking and insightful. To keep the piece fun and approachable we adapted a collage style, allowing pieces from the exhibit to come to life and tell their story.

Foothills Performing Arts Center - Advertising

Paperkite developed a template for the Center to create print advertising for a variety of print applications. The result was a look that is consistent yet flexible.

ThisIsCooperstown.com - Advertising

Paperkite worked with Otsego County Tourism to develop an ad that would speak to local tourists, encouraging the local community to take advantage of all the Cooperstown area has to offer for recreation “right in our own backyard.”

Museumwise.org

Museumwise provides resources, training, and expertise to New York's heritage organizations and museums. We built this website on the powerful and flexible Drupal CMS, which powers a large number of corporations, government agencies, and non-profits, including Amnesty International, The White House, and The Economist. In the process, we had to build two large databases of content to handle Museumwise's Lending Library and for the South Central Regional Directory for New York State's Documentary Heritage Program. We also integrated class signups, memberships, and donations via custom signup forms, and integrated their website with their social media presence.
